April 1-29 2023, Grass Valley California
“Creative Visions – A Photo Challenge”
This show was held at the Courtyard Suites in Grass Valley as a celebration of April Photography month. This is the photograph I submitted, a physical college, photographed then printed – of two images from my assigned grid area of Grass Valley – Empire Mine Historic Park.
The competition contained photographs of western Nevada County that were taken during one week in February, each photographer being assigned a specific grid area and rules to follow. It was a very fun, creative endeavor for everyone involved, sanction by the Nevada County Camera Club.

September – October 2022, Berkeley California
Art & Lit Solo Show “Magical Desert Landscapes”
This “tiny show” was so much fun, creating tiny photographs to exhibit and picking out the tiny audience that “views” the work, with a reception in Andrea Scharff’s beautiful home garden. Art & Lit is a tiny art gallery, located in a drawer above her Free Little Library, which is set on the stone wall outside her home. They are located on Bay View Place, in Berkeley, California’s hills near the Berkeley Rose Garden and Codornices Park. See map here.
Visitors can see shows day or night, as the gallery is usually lit until about two hours after dusk. Link to my exhibit here.

Five of my rock & sunrise desert pieces traveled to Santa Fe, New Mexico for the Art Santa Fe show, where I used to live from 2003-2009. Santa Fe is the third largest art market in the United States.

The works are centered in the archetypes of power of the Sacred Feminine and the importance of saving nature.

Over 200 artists were accepted. Honored to be a part of this group of talented artists and ADC Fine Art.

October 2021 – February 2022, Walnut Creek California
If a Tree Falls, Art of the Boundary Oak
Bedford Gallery, Walnut Creek.
“If a Tree Falls: Art of the Boundary Oak memorializes the City of Walnut Creek’s signature Valley Oak, which tragically fell during a massive windstorm in October 2019. As a tribute to the tree’s long life and rich history, which spanned 325 years, the artists in the exhibition created artworks from its wood, offering this monumental being a second life.
In addition to honoring the tree’s grand legacy, this timely community show provides a much-needed celebration of local artists and highlights the unifying forces of nature. If a Tree Falls included 64 emerging, mid-career, and established Bay Area artists who work across disciplines from painting and drawing to woodturning and carving. Each artwork—made exclusively for the show—incorporates pieces of Walnut Creek’s beloved Boundary Oak, providing visitors a rare opportunity to see how artists interpret the same base material in different ways.” – Bedford Gallery
My piece Dryads of the Boundary Oak aims to artistically represent the Dryad (Greek), or spirits of this tree. I collected two cross sections of an approximate 20″ branch, photographed and assembled into a collage.
