Melusine is a figure from European folklore. She is a water spirit and associated with water, rivers, and magical springs. Melusine is known for her duality, representing both a gentle and nurturing side, as well as a powerful and mysterious one. She is linked to themes of transformation, enchantment, and feminine power. Melusine’s story often centers around her marriage and her tragic secret: every Saturday, she must transform into a half-serpent creature as a result of a curse. Her tale serves as a cautionary reminder that some things must remain hidden, and that there is strength in embracing one’s true nature.
