Badlands National Park in South Dakota is home to some of the most striking geological formations in the United States. The unique layers of yellow, green, red and orange sedimentary rock are a testament to the forces of nature that have sculpted this terrain over millions of years. The crystal blue sky overhead, with its scattered stormy clouds, creates a dramatic contrast against the harsh, barren landscape. As the sun pierces through the clouds, it illuminates the various shapes and curves of the rock formations, highlighting their textures and contours.
