Nemesis, a prominent figure in Greek mythology, was revered as the goddess of divine retribution and revenge. Known for delivering justice, Nemesis specifically targeted those guilty of hubris—the sin of excessive pride or arrogance before the gods. Unlike other deities who could exhibit benevolence or malevolence, Nemesis was feared for her implacable nature and her role in enforcing moral justice. She held sway over the punishment of evil, arrogance, and undeserved fortune, embodying the concept of retribution for transgressions against the divine order. With various symbols, attributes, and cults, Nemesis represented the embodiment of moral justice and divine vengeance within the pantheon of Greek gods and goddesses.
