On a hilltop in southern Iceland after midnight, silhouetted againstthe stunning and expansive display of green and purple aurora, a person stands, undoubtedly transfixed by the majesty of the moment. With an almost surreal glow emanating in front of them, they are enveloped in the magical aura of the natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights unfolding above them. The embodiment of nature’s raw beauty and the infinitesimal place of humankind within it, this image is a reminder of the extraordinary wonders our world has to offer. This shot was under an amazing a long, cold night of shooting and trying to keep my fingers warm!
