Sedna, the revered goddess of the sea and marine animals in Inuit mythology, holds a significant position in the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Arctic peoples. As the guardian of the oceans and marine life, Sedna is depicted as a powerful and enigmatic figure, embodying the untamed forces of the sea and the depths of the underworld. Inuit traditions portray Sedna as both a source of nourishment and a figure of awe-inspiring authority, symbolizing the interdependence between humanity and the oceanic realm. Her legendary tales continue to be honored and celebrated within Inuit communities, representing a profound reverence for the ocean’s bountiful offerings and the enduring spirit of the Arctic peoples.
