In the tranquil setting of Point Lobos State Park in Carmel, California, a peculiar sight greets me as a walk along the rocky cliff. A gang of vultures, perched on a tangled bramble of branches, gathers together in anticipation of their upcoming feeding expedition. With sharp, watchful eyes the vultures exude a unique aura of mystery and resilience. As the sun begins to illuminate the coastline, these majestic creatures seem to embrace their role as nature’s clean-up crew, ready to soar through the skies in search of sustenance.
